Frisco...You're
my peace of mind in this crazy world. You're everything I've tried to
find, your love is a pearl. You're my Mona Lisa, you're my rainbow skies,
and my only prayer is that you realize you'll always be beautiful in my eyes.

Both my GSD's had to be retired from obedience
by the age of 5 due to health problems. So I decided that I wanted to get a
border collie. Janice DeMello came to my home town and gave an obedience
seminar. Jan brought with her this lovely bitch "Static" which I fell in love
with. I talked to Janice about getting a puppy from her. She told me
to write her a letter and she would put me on her list. Well, I never did,
then Jan came back to my home town to give a working camp. I went out to
dinner with her and she asked me if I ever sent her a letter. I told her "no,
that I was a nobody and why would she give me a puppy". She told me that she
does not place her dogs in homes for people who want a dog to just compete
with but with people that will love them no matter what and I should write her
a letter. That night I went home and wrote Jan a letter about what I was
looking for in a puppy: health, drive, biddability and black & white. I never
knew how much that one letter would change my life forever.
In August of 1995, I received a phone call from
Janice that let me know Static had her first litter and she had chosen a
female for me. I was very excited, I made my plane reservations that night
to go get my new puppy, "Frisco"
Frisco is just wonderful, she wakes up everyday
wanting to get started in our daily routine. She loves to go walking in the
morning, training in the afternoon, play ball every hour of the day and still
wants more to do before bed. She is famous for her smile!! Frisco has become
so much of my life it is impossible to believe life without her. When I am
down she is right there with her smile and her kisses. When I want to go work
she is more than willing to go train. God I love this dog!!

Frisco is everything I have ever wanted in a
dog. We started training for obedience and she just thrived. Frisco was
always wanting to be worked, so everyday we went training. It was great
having a dog that had so much drive, was sound enough that we could jog and
train in the same day, and just wanted to have fun. Frisco got her CD, CDX
and UD with all Dog World awards, she placed 6th at Gaines in novice and got
her OTCH and CH at such a young age. Everyone would tell me what a nice job I
have done with Frisco and I would let them know that it was not so much me but
FRISCO was that once in a life time dog.
Since I was finished with obedience and Frisco
was letting me know that she wanted more to do, I got involved with agility.
Frisco once again just bloomed. She took to agility with leaps and bounds.
She was great to have as my first agility dog because with all my handling
errors she was willing to let me keep on trying and she never lost her
patience with me. FRISCO has finished her USDAA and AKC agility
championships.
I want to thank JAN for giving me my lifetime
partner. I never knew how much one letter would change my life. I have met
so wonderful friends that have acquired Hob Nob border collies as well.
